특히 범죄자를 옹호하는 시민이 더 많다는 사실에 놀랐다.

존경하고 따르는 것도 무조건적이다. 

피고인을 위한 재판임에도 마치 영웅처럼 대하는 몰타인

많은 생각을 하게 한 하루다. 

그많은 돈은 어디로 사라지고 10년째 병원을 짓지도 않는다. 

이 사건의 주인공은 전 총리와 주변이라는 사실에 경악을 금치 못한다.

 

 

Aquilina는 Vitals/Steward 병원 거래에 대해 현재 진행 중인 

범죄 수사에 대해 “나는 정의의 과정을 왜곡하려는

 Joseph Muscat의 필사적인 시도에 계속 저항할 것입니다.”라고 말했다.
그는 세 개의 공립병원 거래에 대해 Repubblika가 시작한 것과 같은

조사가 정의를 보장하는 데 중요한 역할을 할 것이라고 말했다.
레푸블리카는 현 노동당 병원에 비리를 폭로하는 글을 올렸다가

폭탄을 장착한 차에서  숨진 여자 기자다.
그는 이 여성의 이름을 딴 NGO를 열었다.
법정에 들어갈 수 없어 싸우고 돌아갔다.

 

 

 

조셉 무스카트(Joseph Muscat)는 화요일 형사 피고인으로 

법정에 첫 출석해 바이탈스 병원 거래에 대한 조사에서

 발생한 부패 관련 혐의에 대해 무죄를 주장했다.
불명예를 안은 전 총리는 사기, 음모, 자금세탁 등의 혐의로

다른 13명의 개인과 9개 기업과 함께 10시간 동안 기소됐다.
이 사건은 반부패 NGO인 Repubblika가 시작한 가브리엘라 벨라 치안 판사의

4년간의 조사 기간 동안 수집된 최소 78상자의 증거가 포함된 복잡한 사건이다.
재판부는 증거 공개가 공익을 위한 것이라는 주장을 예상하고

“수호해야 할 공익은 올바른 사법 집행이지 수사 과정에서

수집한 증거를 공개하는 것이 아니다”라고 말했다.

법원은 당사자나 변호사가 사건 파일의 문서나 증거를 전달하는 것을 금지했다.
법원은 피고인의 해외 여행을 금지하지는 않았지만

향후 회의 참석을 보장하기 위해 모든 피고인에게 €25,000의 개인 보증을 부과했다.

desperate attempts to distort the course of justice,

” Aquilina said of the ongoing criminal investigation 

into the Vitals/Steward hospital deal.
He said investigations such as the one launched

by Repubblika into the dealings of three public hospitals

would play an important role in ensuring justice.
Repubblika is a journalist who was killed with a bomb after posting

an article revealing corruption at the current Labor Party hospital.
He opened an NGO named after this woman.
Unable to enter the court, he fought and returned.

 

 

Joseph Muscat had his first day in court as a criminal defendant on Tuesday,

 pleading not guilty to corruption-related charges emanating 

from the inquiry into the Vitals hospitals deal.
The disgraced former prime minister was charged, together with 13 other individuals

and nine companies with serious offences relating to fraud, conspiracy

and money laundering, in a gruelling 10-hour arraignment.
The case is a complex one, with at least 78 boxes of evidence

that were gathered during Magistrate Gabriella Vella’s four-year inquiry,

which had been initiated by anti-corruption NGO Repubblika.
In anticipation of the argument that publication of the evidence

was in the interest of the public, the magistrate said :

“the public interest that needs to be protected is the correct administration

of justice and not the revelation of the evidence collected during the inquiry.”

The court prohibited

the parties or their lawyers

from passing on any documents or evidence from the case file.
While it did not prohibit the defendants from travelling abroad,

the court imposed a €25,000 personal guarantee

on every defendant to ensure their attendance for future sittings

裁判所は被告らの海外旅行を禁止しなかったが、

今後の会議への出席を確保するために被告全員に2万5000ユーロの個人保証を課した。
