몰타의 어머니날

어머니의 날에 대하여
몰타는 공휴일은 아니지만 미국에서는 5월 둘째 일요일을 법정 공휴일로 지정하고 있다.
어머니날은 전 세계 50개국 이상에서 기념되지만

모든 국가가 같은 날에 기념하는 것은 아니다.
5월 둘째 일요일을 어머니날로 기념하는 국가로는

호주, 덴마크, 핀란드, 이탈리아, 스위스, 터키, 벨기에 등이 있다.

멕시코와 라틴 아메리카의 많은 지역에서는

매년 5월 10일을 어머니날로 기념한다.

태국에서는 현 여왕의 생일인 8월 12일을 기념하고 있다.

 

초기 기독교인들은 사순절 넷째 주일을

그리스도의 어머니이신 마리아를 기리는 어머니 축제로 지켰다.
영국의 어머니날 전통은 이제 미국의 어머니날 전통과 매우 유사하지만

그 기원은 다릅니다. 사순절 넷째 일요일에 모교회로 돌아오는 것을 기념하는 날이다.

About Mother's Day
Not a public holiday, but a legal national holiday observed 

on the second Sunday in May in the United States.
Mother's Day is celebrated across the world, in more than 50 countries,

though not all countries celebrate it on the same day.
Countries that celebrate Mother's Day on the second Sunday of May

include Australia, Denmark, Finland, Italy, Switzerland,

Turkey and Belgium. In Mexico and many parts of Latin America,

Mother's Day is celebrated on May 10th of each year.

In Thailand, it is celebrated on August 12th, the birthday of the current Queen.

 

Early Christians celebrated the fourth Sunday of Lent

 as a mother's festival to honour Mary, the mother of Christ.
In the UK, the tradition of Mother's Day is now very similar to its American counterpart,

but its origins are different, as the day commemorates returning to

your mother church on the fourth Sunday in Lent.
The English colonists who settled in America discontinued the tradition of Mothering Sunday,

as presumably, it would have been a bit of a trip to return to their mother church for the day.
The American tradition
For a holiday, that became popular in fairly recent times,

 we can still manage to find three originations for the day.
A true American Mother's Day was first suggested in the United States by Julia Ward Howe,

writer of the Battle Hymn of the Republic.

She suggested that the day be dedicated to peace.

Starting in 1872, she organized Mother's Day meetings in Boston every year.

祝日ではありませんが、

アメリカでは5月の第2日曜日が祝日に指定されています。

또는 그리스에서는 동방 정교회에서 예수를 성전에 봉헌하는 날

(율리우스력 2월 2일)이 있다.

그리스에는 세속적인 날과 종교적인 어머니날이 모두 존재한다.

어머니날은 관련 없는 축하 행사임에도 불구하고 종종 "어머니날"이라고 불린다.
일부 국가에서는 채택된 날짜가 가톨릭 국가의 성모 마리아 축일과 ​​같이

대다수 종교에 중요한 날짜다. 다른 나라들은 역사적 의미가 있는 날짜를 선택했다.

예를 들어, 볼리비아의 어머니날은 여성들이 자녀를 보호하기 위해

While the United States holiday was adopted by some other countries, 

existing celebrations, held on different dates,

 honoring motherhood have become described as

 "Mother's Day", such as Mothering Sunday in the United Kingdom
or, in Greece, the  presentation of JesusEastern Orthodox celebration

 of the Christ to the temple (2 February of Julian Calendar). 

Both the secular and religious Mother Day are present in Greece.Mothering Sunday

 is often referred to as "Mother's Day" even though it is an unrelated celebration.

In some countries, the date adopted is one significant to the majority religion,

 such as Virgin Mary Day in Catholic countries. 

Other countries selected a date with historical significance. 

For example, Bolivia's Mother's Day is a fixed date, commemorating a battle

 in which women participated to defend their children.

Some countries, such as Russia, celebrated International Women's Day 

instead of Mother's Dayor simply celebrate both holidays, 

which is the custom in Ukraine. Kyrgyzstan has recently introduced

 Mother's Day, but "year on year International Women's Day is certainly increasing in status"
