몰타에서 전통적인 쿠키가 여러 개 있는데

그중 임카레트라고 하는 튀긴 쿠키는 아랍 쿠키와 비슷하다.

mqaret은 대추야자, 감귤류, 향신료의 조합으로 채워진 전통적인 몰타 페이스트리로

다이아몬드 모양을 만든 다음 뜨거운 기름에 튀긴다.

요리의 이름은 다이아몬드 모양을 의미하는 maqrut라는 단어에서 파생되었으며,

이 향긋한 패스트리의 시각적 모양을 나타내지 만 경우에 따라 직사각형 모양 일 수도 있다.
