Seven years ago, March 11, 2011, the Great East Japan Earthquake struck Japan.
物質万能時代に 自然災害の深刻な悩みに陥った日に 7年前3月11日、日本東日本大震災だ。
동일본 대진재는 2011년(헤이세이 23년) 3월 11일 14시 46분에 발생한 도호쿠 지방 태평양 해역 지진과 그에 따라 일어난 쓰나미, 여진으로 인해 발생된 대규모 지진 재해이다. 2018년(헤이세이 30년)3월 9일 현재 사망자는 1만 5,895명, 중경상자는 6,156명, 경찰에 신고가 접수된 실종자는 2,539명이라고 발표하고 있다(단 미확인 정보를 포함. 여진으로 인한 것을 포함한다. 일본 내에서 일어난 자연 재해로 사망 실종자의 합계가 1만명을 넘어선 것은 전후 처음이다. 메이지 이후에도 간토 대지진, 메이지 산리쿠 지진에 이어피해 규모였다.이와테·미야기·후쿠시마의 3현을 중심으로 1도시 1도 10현에서 사망 실종자가 또 1도시 1도 18현에서 부상자가 발생했다.
The aftermath of the 2011 Tōhoku earthquake and tsunami included both a humanitarian crisis and massive economic impacts. The tsunami created over 300,000 refugees in the Tōhoku region of Japan, and resulted in shortages of food, water, shelter, medicine and fuel for survivors.15,891 deaths have been confirmed.
In response to the crisis, the Japanese government mobilized the Self-Defence Forces, while many countries sent search and rescue teams to help search for survivors. Aid organizations both in Japan and worldwide also responded, with the Japanese Red Cross reporting $1 billion in donations. The economic impact included both immediate problems, with industrial production suspended in many factories, and the longer term issue of the cost of rebuilding which has been estimated at ¥10 trillion ($122 billion).
東日本大震災は、2011年（平成23年）3月11日に発生した東北地方太平洋沖地震による災害およびこれに伴う福島第一原子力発電所事故による災害である。大規模な地震災害であることから大震災と呼称される。
警察庁は、2018年（平成30年）3月9日時点で、死者は1万5,895人、重軽傷者は6,156人、警察に届出があった行方不明者は2,539人であると発表している（ただし未確認情報を含む。余震によるものを含む。日本国内で起きた自然災害で死者・行方不明者の合計が1万人を超えたのは戦後初めてであり。明治以降でも関東大震災、明治三陸地震に次ぐ被害規模であった。岩手・宮城・福島の3県を中心に、1都1道10県で死者・行方不明者が、また1都1道18県で負傷者が発生した。
