Coming-of-age ceremonies or becoming adults are similar in age to that of an adult, although their age is often defined as being of different standards depending on the society, they can usually be kept effective at a certain age. In the past and present society, the physical changes brought about by the development of secondary sex characters are considered as specific criteria for adult, whereas in religious terms, the time of the ceremony is usually determined by age. Western society generally admits to being around the age of 16-22 and at a time when children are usually out of their infancy and are legally under age. Many countries celebrate the arrival of an adult by attending a ceremony or ceremony.

成人式とは、日本の地方公共団体などが、成人式を行う年度内に成人に達する人々を招き、激励・祝福する行事(イベント)である。講演会やパーティーを開いたり、記念品を贈ったりする。
