할로윈

할로윈은 매년 모든 성인 대축일 전날인 10월 31일에 행해지는 전통 행사이다. 이 날에는 죽은 영혼이 다시 살아나며 정령이나 마녀가 출몰한다고 믿고, 그것들을 놀려주기 위해 사람들은 유령이나 괴물 복장을 하고 축제를 즐긴다. 원래 기독교 행사는 아니다. 켤트족의 악령 물리친다는 의미에서 비롯되었으나 현대는 미국을 비롯하여 유령 의상 호박 모양의 장신구 등 이용하여 동네를 돌며 과자를 받는 행사이며 성인들의 파티로 즐기는 날로 변모하고 있다.

ハロウィンとは、毎年10月31日に行われる、古代ケルト人が起源と考えられている祭のこと。もともとは秋の収穫を祝い、悪霊などを追い出す宗教的な意味合いのある行事であったが、現代では特にアメリカ合衆国で民間行事として定着し、祝祭本来の宗教的な意味合いはほとんどなくなっている。カボチャの中身をくりぬいてを作って飾ったり、子どもたちが魔女やお化けに仮装して近くの家々を訪れてお菓子をもらったりする風習などがある. キリスト教の祭ではないハロウィンに対してはキリスト教からは容認から批判まで様々な見解がある.
