몰타의 집중할 사람들이 있다.

지금 몰타는 노동당이 집권하는데

사실 야당인 사람들이 중요한 비리를 파헤치고 있다.

국민당의 버나드 그레치 대표는 몰타는 노동당보다 

더 나은 정부를 가질 자격이 있다고 말하면서

일요일 PN이 조직한 시위에 참석할 것을 촉구했다.
시위 하루 전 방송된 연설에서 그레흐는 로버트 아벨라 총리는

항상 평범한 노동자를 희생시키면서 자신을 권력을 유지하는 사람들을

변호할 준비가 되어 있다고 말했다.

 

몰타 정부는 Joseph Muscat 전 총리, Keith Schembri, 전 장관 Konrad Mizzi가 

VGH의 실패한 양보를 구하기 위해 스튜어드를 데려오도록 

추진한 끔찍한 거래로 인해 발목이 잡혔다.

 

문제는 병원 비리가 발각되면서다.

2월24일 몰타 법원은 논란이 많은 2015년 당시 정부가 의료 부문 경험이 

없는 국제 그룹에 3개 병원의 경영권을 부여한 계약을 기각했다.
5년간의 법정 다툼이 끝난 후 상세한 판결에서 Francesco Depasquele 판사는

전 총리 Joseph Muscat 정부와 이전에 알려지지 않은

Vitals Global Healthcare Group 간의 계약에 서명하기 전에 사기가 저질러졌다고 말했다.

 

몰타는 부패로 악명이 높다. 수십 년 동안 한 쌍의 정치 기구인 노동당과

국민당이 섬에서 아무런 처벌 없이 운영되었다. 그러나 2013년 부패가 극에 달했다.
집권한 지 15년 만에 노동당이 집권했고

몇 달 만에 공공 자산이 아제르바이잔에 매각되었다.

새 정부는 또한 섬이 더러운 현금의 더 많은 흐름을 위한 안식처가 되고

사람들이 자신의 재산을 파나마와 두바이의 역외 자산으로 옮겼던 것처럼

은행으로 위장한 금융 세탁 모음을 허가했다.

 

 

Nationalist Party leader Bernard Grech urged people to attend a PN-organised protest on Sunday, saying that Malta deserves a better government 

than the one which is offered by Labour.
In a televised address a day before the protest, Grech said

Prime Minister Robert Abela was always at the ready to defend those

who keep him in power at the expense of the average worker.  

 

Malta  government is hamstrung by an awful deal pushed

 by former Prime Minister Joseph Muscat, 

Keith Schembri, and former minister Konrad Mizzi to bring Steward

 to save VGH’s failing concession.

 

A Maltese court on Friday struck down a highly controversial

 2015 deal under which the then government granted management of three hospitals 

to an international group with no experience in the medical sector.
In a detailed ruling at the end of a five-year court challenge,

judge Francesco Depasquele said fraud had been committed

before the signing of the deal between

the government of former Prime Minister Joseph Muscat

and the previously unknown Vitals Global Healthcare Group.

 

Malta is notorious for its corruption. For decades, a pair of political machines –

 the Labour and Nationalist parties – have operated with impunity on the island. But in 2013 the corruption went into overdrive.
After 15 years out of power, the Labour party took office, and within months,

public assets were being sold off to Azerbaijan.

The new government also licensed a collection of financial laundromats masquerading as banks,

just as the island became a haven for ever greater flows of dirty cash,

and people shuttled their own fortunes away to offshore holdings in Panama and Dubai.

Despite this widespread corruption, I think Malta's future is bright.

 This is because the leaders of the opposition party and the people are awake.
