세계식량계획(WFP)이 기아 퇴치와 분쟁지역 평화 여건 개선 노력으로

 2020년 노벨 평화상을 수상했다.
노르웨이 노벨위원회 위원장인 베릿 리스 앤데르센은 코로나바이러스의 규제로 인해 평소 참석했던

 기자들의 수가 급격히 감소한 오슬로 노벨 연구소에서 2020년 수상자를 공개했다.

리스 앤더슨은 위원회가 "굶주림의 위협에 시달리거나 직면하는 수백만 명의 사람들에게

세계의 눈을 돌리고 싶다"고 원했기 때문에 이 상을 WFP에 수여했다고 말했다.,

그녀는 굶주림이 "전쟁과 갈등의 무기"로 사용되었다고 말했다.

 

 

 

 

The World Food Programme (WFP) has won the 2020 Nobel peace prize

for its efforts to combat hunger and to improve conditions for peace in conflict areas.

The chairwoman of the Norwegian Nobel committee, Berit Reiss-Andersen,

revealed the 2020 laureate at the Nobel Institute in Oslo,

where coronavirus restrictions drastically reduced the usual throng of reporters in attendance.

Reiss-Andersen said the committee gave the award to the WFP

because it wanted to “turn the eyes of the world to the millions of people

who suffer from or face the threat of hunger”.

Hunger, she said, was used as a “weapon of war and conflict”.

2020年のノーベル平和賞を受賞しました。

There was no shortage of causes or candidates on this year’s list,

with 211 individuals and 107 organizations nominated ahead of the Feb. 1 deadline.

However, the Norwegian Nobel Committee maintains absolute secrecy

about whom it favors for arguably the world’s most prestigious prize.
