몰타는 공화국이지만 대통령의 권한은 없다.

상징적인 존재이며 의회가 지명하는 사람이 된다.

2024년 3번째 여성 대통령이며 5년간 대통령으로 임무를 볼 것이다.

스피테리 데보노(71세)는 최근 몇 년 동안 부정부패 스캔들로 휩싸인

이 나라의 11대 대통령으로 취임한 후 의회에서 연설하고 있었다.

조지 벨라(George Vella)의 5년 대통령 임기가 끝나자

이 나라의 11대 대통령이 되기 위한 취임 선서를 했다.
올해 3월 27일 의회는 만장일치로 그녀의 지명을 승인했다.

의회 회의에서 로버트 아벨라 총리는 2020년에 시행된 헌법 개혁이

처음으로 사용된 역사적인 날이라고 설명했다.

Spiteri Debono, 71, was addressing parliament after being sworn

in as the 11th president of the country, which has been roiled by graft scandals in recent years.
Myriam Spiteri Debono has taken the Oath of Office to become the country’s 11th President,

as George Vella’s five-year Presidential term came to an end on Thursday afternoon.
On 27 March this year, Parliament unanimously approved her nomination to the post.

During the Parliamentary session, Prime Minister Robert Abela had described

it as a historic day, as it was the first time that a constitutional reform implemented in 2020 was used

ジョージ・ベラ氏の５年間の大統領任期が終了し、

第１１代大統領に就任する宣誓を行った。
今年3月27日、議会は全会一致で彼女の指名を承認した。

ロバート・アベラ首相は議会で演説し、

2020年に実施された憲法改正が初めて適用されたため、この日は歴史的な日だったと述べた。
