suffering from a medical complication which may put her life at risk or her health in grave jeopardy.".
Abela said that the government has genuine intentions and wants to eliminate the possibility

of women abusing the term. He said that the government is absorbing

all the information it can and if there can be legal amendments

which cater to decrease such instances of abuse, that they are willing to discuss them.

 

Turning to other issues, he said that when the government speaks 

about 'politics for the people', they mean looking at the every day realities of the people. 

The prime Minister said that this is a principle which is also going to be kept in mind,

 especially when it comes to reforms "which the country is in much need of".
On pensions, Abela said that during the Covid-19 pandemic the government,

for this year's budget could have stopped from helping society through financial means,

however did not do so as "we wanted to be there for the people,

unlike previous governments where all the weight was put on society in general when times got hard."

He said that in comparison, Malta managed keep energy and fuel prices low 

when compared to other European countries 

"who right now have to choose between basic necessities".
"Whatever the circumstances will be, this government is going to be working closely

with people, and this has already been shown during the pandemic,

when difficult times hit.

That is why pensions across the board have been increased by an additional €12.15 a week".
