라밥 파티마 유엔 방글라데시 상임대표는 2019년 12월 6일

유엔 사무총장에게 자격증을 수여했다.,

현직에 오르기 전 2016년 2월부터 주일 방글라데시 대사로 활동했다.
파티마 대사는 직업 외교관으로 1989년 방글라데시 외무부에 입문했다.

그녀는 뉴욕 유엔 주재 영구 임무의 첫 번째 비서관 (1994-1998)을 포함하여

Ambassador Rabab Fatima

Permanent Representative of Bangladesh to the United Nations, New York

Ambassador Rabab Fatima, Permanent Representative of Bangladesh

 to the United Nations, presented her credentials to the UN Secretary General

on 6 December 2019. Prior to taking up her current post,

she was Bangladesh Ambassador to Japan since February 2016.

Ambassador Fatima is a career diplomat and joined the Bangladesh Foreign Service

in 1989. She has served in various Bangladesh missions including, as First Secretary

 in the Permanent Mission to the UN, New York (1994-1998);

Counsellor, Deputy High Commission, Kolkata (1998-2000); Counsellor,

 Permanent Mission to the UN, Geneva (2002-2005); and Minister & DCM, Embassy

in Beijing (2005). She served in various positions, including, as Assistant Secretary

(UN), Director (UN) and Director General (East Asia & Pacific) in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Ambassador Fatima served in lien with two international organizations, namely,

the Commonwealth Secretariat, London, as Head of Human Rights (2006-2007);

and with the International Organization for Migration as the Regional Representative

 for South Asia (2007-2011); and as the Regional Adviser for South

and South-west Asia & Regional Adviser for Climate Change

and Migration in IOM’s Regional Office for Asia and the Pacific (2012-2015).

Ambassador Fatima received her M.A. in International Relations

and Diplomacy from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy,

Tufts University, USA, and B.A. in Social Science from the University of Canberra,

 Australia. She is married to fellow diplomat, Kazi Imtiaz Hossain,

currently serving as the Ambassador of Bangladesh to France. They have a daughter.

유엔 방글라데시 영구임무국(UN)의 메시지에 따르면

부위원장은 리투아니아와 모로코, 브라질과 스위스의 DPR이 될 것이라고 한다.
이번 선거로 방글라데시는 유엔의 업무에 더 많은 기여를 할 수 있을 것이며,

이번에는 어린이 대의를 전문으로 하는 기관에 전략적 지침을 제공할 수 있을 것이다.
방글라데시는 앞서 아시아태평양국가(Asia-Pacific Sates) 그룹을

대표하는 2019-2021년 임기로 집행위원회에 선출됐다.

 

 

 

그녀의 수락 연설에서 라밥 대사는 그녀를 선택하고 전 세계의 어린이들에게 영향을 미치는

도전과 유니세프에게 의미 있고 영향력있는 2020년을 다루는

방글라데시 지도부에 대한 자신감 때문에 그녀를 선택했다.

방글라데시는 특히 유니세프의 활동이 수급 국가의 요구와

우선 순위에 부응하는지 확인하는 데 도움이 될 것이라고 강조했다.
유니세프의 행정 이사인 헨리에타 H 포어는 새로운 대통령을 환영했으며

유니세프는 자신의 경험과 지혜로부터 혜택을 받기를 기대하고 있다고 말했다.

Rabab Fatima of Bangladesh elected President of Unicef Executive Board

The election was held at the UN Headquarters in New York on Tuesday
 
Ambassador Rabab Fatima, Bangladesh’s Permanent Representative (PR)

to the United Nations, has been unanimously elected president of the Unicef Executive Board.

The election was held at the UN Headquarters in New York on Tuesday, reports UNB.

Vice presidents will be the PRs of Lithuania and Morocco,

 and DPRs of Brazil and Switzerland, according to a message

 from the Bangladesh Permanent Mission at the UN.

With this election, Bangladesh will be able to contribute further

to the work of the United Nations,

this time in providing strategic guidance

 to its agency specializing in children’s causes.

Bangladesh was earlier elected to the Executive Board

for the term 2019-2021 representing the group of Asia-Pacific Sates.
In her acceptance speech, Ambassador Rabab thanked the board members

 for electing her, and for their confidence in Bangladesh’s leadership to address

the challenges that continue to affect children across the globe,

and for meaningful and impactful 2020 for Unicef.

She assured Unicef that the new Executive Board will work hard to bring

new ideas to uplift the wellbeing of children and fight for their rights.
She applauded Unicef’s persistent endeavor to improve the wellbeing of children,

 and emphasized that Bangladesh would help ensure, among other things,

that Unicef activities are responsive to the needs and priorities of the recipient countries.

Unicef Executive Director Henrietta H Fore welcomed the new President

and said that Unicef looked forward to benefiting from her experience and wisdom.

Fore expressed optimism that Ambassador Fatima

would spearhead the bureau’s guidance to the work of Unicef.

홍보했으며 좋은 이미지를 가진 모든 사람들이 방글라데시를 주목하게 되었다.

역시 유엔 대사로 가서 유니세프 집행위원장이 되는 역동적인 일을 하게 됨과

그녀의 외교적 스킬은 매우 부드럽지만  결단적인 생각과 활동도 많았다.

부부 대사를 지내면서 방글라데시를 알리는데 너무나 많은 노력을 한

대사의 미래와 귀추를 주목한다. 내가 기억하는 대사는 참으로 훌륭한 분으로

생각하며 더욱 발전적인 분으로 성공하기를 기원한다.
