아일랜드 공화국에서 지배적 인 종교는 기독교이며, 

가장 큰 교단은 카톨릭 교회다. 

아일랜드 헌법은 국가가 특정 종교를 지지할 수 없으며 

종교의 자유를 보장할 수 없다고 말한다.
2016 년 인구 조사에서 인구의 78.3 % (3.5 백만)가

가톨릭 신자로 확인되었으며,

209,220은 6 년 전인 2010 년에 비해 88 %에 달했다. 
카톨릭 다음으로 가장 큰 그룹은 "종교가 없다"는 것이었다. 

인구의 10 %는 인구 조사에 따라 종교가 없었다. 

이것은 2011년에 비해 73.6% 증가한 것이다. 
2022년에는 가톨릭 신자의 40%만이 교회에 참석한다.

 with the largest denomination being the Catholic Church. 

The Constitution of Ireland says that the state 

may not endorse any particular religion and guarantees freedom of religion.
In the 2016 census, 78.3% (3.5 million) of the population identified

as Catholic which is 209,220 fewer than 6 years earlier in 2010 when the percentage stood at 88%.
The next largest group after Catholic was "no religion".

This was a 73.6% increase from 2011
In 2022 only 40 percent of Catholics attend church.
The second largest Christian denomination, the Church of Ireland (Anglican),

declined in membership for most of the twentieth century,

but has more recently experienced an increase, as have other small Christian denominations.

Other significant Protestant denominations are the Presbyterian Church in Ireland,

followed by the Methodist Church in Ireland. 

The country's Orthodox Christian, Hindu and Muslim populations have experienced 

significant growth in recent years, due chiefly to immigration, 

with Orthodox Christianity being the fastest growing religion in Ireland.
