리버던스는 주로 전통적인 아일랜드 음악과 춤으로 구성된 연극 쇼다.

빌 웰런이 작곡한 1994년 유로 비전 송,콘테스트에서 아일랜드 댄스 챔피언인

장 버틀러, 마이클,Flatley, 보컬 앙상블 Anúna가

등장하는 인터벌 퍼포먼스 활동으로 시작되었다.

그후 그는 남편과 아내의 프로덕션 팀인 John McColgan과 Moyaa를 시작했다.

Doherty는 1995년 2월 9일 더블린에서 열린 무대 쇼로 확장되었다.

그 이후로,이 쇼는 전 세계적으로 450개 이상의 장소를 방문하여

2500만 명이 넘는 사람들이 볼 수 있으며

세계에서 가장 성공적인 댄스 프로덕션 중 하나가 되었다.

Riverdance is a theatrical show that consists mainly of traditional Irish music and dance.

 With a score composed by Bill Whelan,

 it originated as an interval performance act during the 1994 Eurovision Song Contest, 

featuring Irish dancing champions Jean Butler, Michael Flatley and the vocal ensemble Anúna. 

Shortly afterwards, husband and wife production team John McColgan

 and Moya Doherty expanded it into a stage show, 

which opened in Dublin on 9 February 1995. Since then, 

the show has visited over 450 venues worldwide and been seen by over 25 million people, 

making it one of the most successful dance productions in the world.
